Pada Senin kemarin kota Kendal tergenang air hampir diseluruh wilayah kota Kendal terutama didaerah kota. Banjir ini disebabkan curah hujan sangat tinggi yang terjadi selama 2 hari 3 malam, akibatnya beberapa tanggul jebol dan 3 sungai besar dan di kawasan tersebut meluap sampai ke pemukiman warga. Ketinggian air pun sangat beragam mulai dari 5 cm sampai 150 cm, daerah yang berdekatan dengan sungai paling parah terkena banjir.
Aktivitas kota Kendal pun menjadi terganggu, terutama para siswa sekolah yang sedang melaksanakan Try Out ujian. Sebagian dari mereka tidak dapat mengikuti Try Out karena transportasi terhalang oleh banjir serta beberapa sekolahan juga ikut terendam banjir.
Disisi lain, banjir justru menguntungkan beberapa pihak diantaranya, tukang becak, tukang gerobak, pedagang asongan dan bengkel. Dengan demikian, semua peristiwa pasti ada hikmahnya.
